TZM (0.5 Ti, 0.08 ZR, 0.02 C, weight %, balance Mo), an alloy of molybdenum containing Titanium and Zirconium, was developed to exhibit greater tensile strength than pure moly. TZM also has a higher recrystallization temperature of 1425 deg C.
Applications for TZM Moly alloys resemble Molybdenum but produce products that may exhibit greater service time. TZM Machined Arc Chambers are used for Ion Implantation and other Semiconductor Products. Medical Applications for TZM include Rotor Shafts and Cathode Assemblies for X-Ray targets.
